DELTAwater treatment for dairy farm’s salty bore water

Here is one of our BIG DELTAs on the Victorian dairy farm of Harry Rowland who has two new bores that are very salty. Harry installed the new bores as a cheaper alternative to purchasing water, and after getting DELTA to test the water, he installed this customised heavy duty water treatment system.

Harry’s bore tested at 5400 uS/cm EC, with 1550 mg/l Chloride and 560 mg/l Sodium (very high class 5 salinity).The DELTA is treating this salty bore water for pastures and the results so far have been great.

Harry and his DELTA-treated bore system featured on the Victorian Country Hour program in June 2020. Once thought too deep and expensive to access, and too salty to irrigate with, two dairy farmers in this Northern Victoria area have installed bores, and more are keen to follow suit.
