DELTA solves calcium build-up in nursing homePosted on December 15, 2009
Calcium build-up on pressure-release and mixer valves on hot-water systems was a problem at Orana Gardens Retirement Village. That was until a trial with the 100% Australian made DELTA water treatment technology.
The home has about 90 hot-water systems that required a six-monthly plumbing service. Installation of the DELTAwater solutions water treatment technology has reduced maintenance costs. The facility also has a six-week program to check pressure-release valves. These valves originally needed replacing every two to three weeks but now need replacing about every eight weeks. There is also a reduction of calcium on the valves.
Personal-care staff also noticed an increase in the efficiency of shampoos and soaps as well us a reduction in the amount of detergent needed for washing machines.
