Australian summers – a land of extremes

Posted on January 6, 2026

As Dorothea Mackellar wrote in My Country, her most famous poem about Australia,

I love a sunburnt country,

A land of sweeping plains,

Of ragged mountain ranges,

Of droughts and flooding rains.

And the Australian summer is delivering it all in 2026, even though we’re only a few days in, with devastating floods in parts of Queensland and three Australian states expected to experience record heatwave conditions this week.

These extremes present daily challenges to rural and remote regions and regional communities – and filter all the way through to the people in cities who rely on Australian agriculture to put food on the supermarket shelves.

DELTAwater solutions, founded in 1993 by Alex and Dianne Panov, design and manufacture magnetic water treatment conditioners to support rural and regional families and businesses through the Australian summers including:

  • Heavy Duty SL range for water with extremely high mineral content – when water supplies get low their quality falls, and our magnetic water conditioners have been designed to allow irrigators, livestock owners and fruit and vegetable growers make the most of the water they have.
  • Evaporative Air Conditioning water treatment conditioner –  treating the problems caused by high levels of hardness, salinity, minerals and iron in water in evaporative air-conditioning units. This product results in air-conditioning pads being cleaner with the benefits including improved efficiency, less maintenance and reduced running costs.
  • Swimming Pool water treatment conditioner solves the problems of calcium and scale build-up in pipes, recirculation and irrigation systems as well as in swimming pool pumps, filters and on pool surfaces. * It makes your pool water ‘softer’ which improves the performance of swimming pool cleaning chemicals as well as giving the pool water a ‘silky’ feel.

We have an extensive understanding and appreciation of water quality, get in touch if you’d like discuss your water quality issues – direct via our contact page or via your local pumps and irrigation agent.
