Heavy duty bore water treatment

It’s been another busy summer at DELTAwater solutions who manufacture heavy duty water treatment systems to treat bore water for stock and irrigation.

DELTAwater solutions, founded 32 years ago by Alex and Dianne Panov, designs and manufactures water treatment products that are power, maintenance and chemical free and treat unlimited volumes of water.

“The first thing we do is gain a thorough understanding of the quality of water through our water testing laboratory, then we work closely with our customers to recommend a product that meets their needs,” Alex says.

“It’s important to understand that one size does not fit all when it comes to water treatment for salinity, iron, algae and calcium-scale build-up caused by poor quality bore, river and dam water.”

The DELTAwater technology prevents blocking in irrigation, industrial and commercial systems such as hot water units, solar systems, commercial and domestic coffee machines, hydroponics and garden and commercial dripper systems.

“We have a broad customer base in Australia and overseas,” he says. “Our DELTAs are installed on cattle and sheep stations in rural and outback Australia, poultry and pig farms, fruit and vegetable farms in major food-producing regions, urban parks and sports fields, abattoirs, thoroughbred horse studs, wineries and mine sites.

“We also have our conditioners in nursing homes, motels, homes and gardens, caravans and RVS, resort and backyard pools and wildlife sanctuaries.”

Steven McCracken, who farms a 5000-hectare property on South Australia’s Eyre Peninsula, says his DELTA conditioner rapidly cleared a ‘frustrating’ build-up of minerals that blocked his main stock-irrigation pipe.

“I had sheep and cattle drinking on the line and I was not getting enough water through the system. I put my DELTA unit on the line and it unblocked the pipe within days. It was a great relief,” he says.

SA Riverland grape grower Dino Sigismondi reckons it was a ‘very good day’ when he first installed the DELTAwater solutions treatment technology on his drip irrigation system supplied by river water.

Dino added another five custom designed water treatment units to his vineyard after the technology proved resoundingly successful in banishing algae from his irrigation systems.

“Since installing the DELTAs we’ve got a clean irrigation system, a more efficient system, the pressure is higher and the vines look a lot healthier too.”

Torrens Valley Orchards in SA, one of Australia’s largest cherry growers, installed a DELTA Bore Hole Unit to treat their pipes and pumps connected to their bore water supply which were blocking with iron. Within three months their pumps and pipes were clear and have remained clear.
