Australian water technology heads west and beyond

With a hot and dry summer arriving early in many parts of Australia, demand for DELTAwater solutions water treatment products is reaching an all-time high.

Founded by Alex and Dianne Panov 30 years ago, DELTAwater solutions treats bore water, river, town and irrigation water for problems such as salinity, calcium-scale build up, iron and corrosion. Customers range from fruit and vegetable irrigators to local councils, abattoirs, sheep and cattle stations, wineries, keen home gardeners and the mining industry.

DELTAwater water treatment conditioners are power, maintenance and chemical free and treat unlimited volumes of water.

Long-time DELTA agent John Powerldy from Powderly’s Pumping & Irrigation Services says the key to the success of the company is they understand people’s water problems before recommending a solution.

“What really sets DELTA apart is the fact they always test the water before they recommend one of their conditioners. If you don’t follow this path you could end up with any quality of water conditioner and it’s not going to work.”

John says problems that growers face in New South Wales’s Young district, renowned for cherries and grapes, include salty bore water and salt build-up in soils.

“We’ve got quite a few DELTAs on grapes and they’re getting better growth, better coloured leaves, better production of fruit – better all round. Plus, they’re noticing less salt build up in their soils,” he says.

Renmark-based agronomist Trevor Sluggett says the Australian made water treatment system boosts irrigation system efficiency, lowers water use and improves yields.

Trevor says when customers start using DELTAwater’s conditioners, many return for more units.

“The good thing about dealing with DELTA is they have a range of units with different strengths to suit specific situations such as hard water where you need to stop scale, salinity issues, high salt issues or biological activity.

“Many of our customers now have them installed across their whole farm as well as hooked up to their home and garden.”

DELTAwater solutions also has a growing export market in countries including China, who are using their water treatment conditioners to keep underground mines pipes, pumps and processors clear of calcium scale build-up. DELTA has custom designed these units to work underground.

They also export their products to Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Egypt, Vanuatu, Bali, Fiji, New Guinea, Tunisia, Canada, India, New Zealand, Italy and the US.
